RMA Advice - BFG FX5900 from GameVE

Looks like I got lucky. I ordered mine from GameVE. Like everybody else, mine was poorly packed, retail box in a fed ex box with no extra packing. But my card works fine, no bars. The manufacture date on my card is 01/2003 though, but CoD was in the box.

The reason you are getting "cannot assign requested address" is because they changed the IPs of many hosts to 255.255.255.255 which is un-assignable, therefore it is just a cancelation misc-e.dal.net is usually up, for a list of other servers, check...

Creative Support horrible - Zen did not work upon arrival

Creative has always been like this. Their support has always been sub-par. Unfortunatly, they know the power of their monopolies :( What is worse is you should see how ruthless they can be to their competition (many Aureal fans out there despise Creative Labs greatly, I'm one of them).

Not worth it. Tried one once, wasn't worth it to me, I paid $27 a while ago It is only expandable with a max of 32mb more via SM (64mb SM cards DID NOT work at all) Also, it is Parallel Port only (no usb). Only up sides to it are: extremely light (less than 3g I believe) and it looks decent...

the drive takes 42.43 seconds to load!!!

Yep, default TCP/IP timeout values are 60 seconds. If your cable modem does not reply, it does affect your windows boot time... It keeps trying until it reaches the timeout interval then assigns itself and internal 169.254.x.x address as mentioned above. Your boot delay should go away once...

Personally, I'd take the easy way out and and put everything in one centered table (a table with 1 row and 1 column) with no border. Might need to set a max width to avoid wrapping.

Does VDMSound work?

No luck with Blood using a C-Media 8738 sound card tried configuring the vdsm.ini and .bat files to odd irqs etc to no avail Best I could do is general midi worked with windows drivers on port 0x330 Sound works, but it is so delayed and choppy that its not worth having.

Does anyone else boycott Real?

The very first version of Real was alright (not great, but alright) every version since then has installed two system tray icons including one blinking annoyingly, taken over every media format, and made many shortcuts and installed itself in system startup. I don't touch it with a 10-foot...

Just called Dell, Spoke to Travis (is everybody there named Travis?). Anyway, he said they are currently working on getting the rebate applied to the proper product. The rebate IS valid for the RETAIL version only (WD product number ends in JBRTL. He said the rebate should be up by Monday...
