USB to USB for networking?

How does usb to usb between two computer work for networking. Would This One work, and what kind of capabilities does it have. ie: could i browse files easily from another computer.

Hooking two computer up for maintenance.

I just had a thought. Would it make sence to take out the old harddrive and put it in my computer. Then run diagnosis on it?

Okay, not serial. ANd about the KVM switch, i just hooked another monitor setup. I figured LPT wasn't the way. i'll try USB. hmm. I just want to be able to see the C drive on my computer, so I can run software through mine, rather than reformating or installing my programs on the other...

Its actualy less direct distance than I've had before. After it times out, I get the network connected notice from windows, but I never get anything about it being disconnected. Its pretty much spontaneous. Is there a way I could change my D-Link card to b so I could get a better signal, speed...
