And here I did the upgrade thinking I would get it faster than waiting for OEM's to show up in retail. I think I'm going to try and cancel my upgrade now and just buy an OEM copy.

Upgrading to WinXP Sp2 and unable to connect to the internet....

Which asus board = dfi lanparty?

Go SLI if you want to have the option the future and think you may use it. Which problems you may or may not encounter mostly are dependent upon your hardware configuration.

If your system is stable with your current BIOS and works fine, then there really is no reason to update the BIOS since you don't overclock. There is really nothing for you to gain.

WHAT IS THIS COMPONENT ON MY MOBO???

That component looks like a polyswitch. It's basically a solid state, resettable fuse that's meant to protect other components and cicuits from damage. If too much voltage and/or current is applied, the component increases it's internal resistance to cut off power from the rest of the board...

Try the middle slot, #2. That's where mine is and it's not sharing IRQ's. Also try disabling PEG Link Mode in the system BIOS.

Probably the Nvidia IDE drivers. Uninstall them, reverting back to the default Windows IDE drivers and don't be surprised if your problem goes away.

My CPU is not a very good overclocker. It starts getting unstable at default voltage at 2.4 GHz and I really have to pump the voltage up to get any stability above that. Aside from that I have to loosen my RAM timings quite a bit to run above 235 FSB which kills my memory bandwidth. I've done...

Which mainboard are you using? If your BIOS has a setting called PEG Link Mode, try disabling it.
