i'm with techgod, who gives a crap, the 240gb ssd's are cheap and getting cheaper, just keep your important stuff on some redundant backup, and don't sweat it.

android, is deployed on various platforms, with varying functionality, you cant really compare a $25 low end phone to an iphone
just download the driver package and extract it to a folder, winrar or 7zip are better that winzip at this.
after that, tell windows to update the driver for your VGA adapter, and point it to the folder and let windows do the rest
i would suggest running the kaspersky rescue disk, with the drives you use plugged in.
it could be USB-centric malware that looks to transport itself via USB connections
