Will Q6600 bottleneck 4870

If you leave the Q6600 at stock then some games will be severely limited. Clock it to at least 3GHz.

Single Player games. A refreshing experience.

There are 2 new ones coming out soon: Dark Horizon The Tomorrow War Personally, can't wait for em. Especially Tomorrow War. Hopefully they will be quality games.

Is 4850 CF overkill for 1680x1050?

I am surprised. I had no end of hassles when I tried crossfiring 2 x 3850's on my P35. Especially in COD 4. Wonder if its just a case of them sorting out driver issues since I tried? Edit: wow, just realised how out of date my sig is!
