I'm having a very similar problem. I am only able to get into windows if i reset the cmos jumper. It would ask me to either press F1 and go into setup or to press F2 and load default values and to continue into windows. When i press F1, i can setup my bios settings, but then when i exit it, it...

Is my heatsink working right?

try reseating and reapply thermal goo ie. Arctic silver 5, also run live update and see if theres a newer bios version out, that might fix it

HP P4 2.3GHz 40GB Notebook $750...Hot?

looks pretty good, recently there was a bestbuy sale for a toshiba notebook for like $950 and about 300 in MIR but it was just a celeron 2.8. this note book here looks like a good deal to me if its $700 AR, now only if it would show up on that sears site
