First timer with an AM2 processor

I don't know about 1T vs 2T but i remember when am2 just came out, 1T was horrible; couldnt even get 800mhz stable. thats why im still running 2T 1.12ghz on the memory.

X3 8450 or E7200

both processor would do fine for gaming... what is application development your referring to?...if the programs youre gonna use takes usage of extra cores then definitely go X3. In the long run, my guess is the X3 since the future is multi-threading.

first of all, i doubt you can find a ADO4600CZBOX, second, if you can get it, the ADO4600CZBOX would be about 2-3% faster than ADO4600DOBOX because the DO is the 65nm version of the X2 with increased L2 latencies but it takes more power than the DO. its all up to you, do you mind the extra...

3850 AGP vidcard in Abit IC7-G/P4 system question.

yes any Core 2 Duo processor would fit in the 775 Dual-VSTA... since you're getting that motherboard, might as well go with a pci-express video card.

performance increase isn't linear with frequency increase...so 19% and 24% is totally normal AGP frequency is 66 default

400/250 should be fine...im still using that 9550 at 400/270 with stock cooler since idk when..... and your cpu usage is always at 100% in all games.

i don't see why you need to flash it to 9600....i could achieve what the 9600PRO would score in 3dmarks with just overclocking.... no i didnt try 400/300....the memory clock wouldn't go higher than 275 in my case....but the core could get up to 415 but i left it at 400.
