Do you change your own oil?

For me, yes. When I'm finished I know the filter is tight, the oil plug is in properly and tight, and the oil level is correct. I also get a chance to look around underneath for potential problems.

Hot water trouble

Sounds like the incoming cold line to the WH is blocked somehow. Opening the release should result in a good flow. If water flows well out of the release valve, then the issue lies in the hot water out line. How old is the unit and could it be leaking without you knowing it?

Chlorine in drinking water

You don't want drinking water without some form of disinfection component. Ozonation is a good spot treatment but it does NOT protect a municipal distribution system. Want chlorine free drinking water? Put a glass jug of tap water in the fridge overnight. My opinion is....At this point there...

I'm curious...corn syrup is a common food industry product. It is common to see rail cars full of the stuff in transit as well as tanker trucks for local delivery. Logically, contamination/spoilage concerns would have already been addressed by the industry. Either your application is unusual...

Is saying "Sir" and "Ma'am" polite or out of date?

I, like several others above, had Sir/Ma'am drilled into me from a very early age. I'm 58 and address most people that way UNLESS we are co-workers or close friends. To me it is polite speech part of cordial social interaction. Now, I can also, by tone, inflection, volume, etc. turn "Yes Sir"...

Old folks upgrade advice

Currently, we have a full tower system AM2 dual core box with PATA HDDs, graphics card, CD & DVD burner etc. I built this several years ago with thoughts of gaming but never really got into it. Mostly we use this system to surf the web, keep in touch with kids and grandkids in far away places...

PSU died/replaced. BIOS wont recongize SATA devices, now having bizarre power issues.

I would also check to see if the CPU heatsink has somehow become dislodged or mis-aligned. I have bumped the heatsink while re-routing cables and then experienced the on-off-on-off thing you seem to be having. Mobo was trying to protect from overheat.

YAGunT: .223/5.56 bullet tumbling vs fragmentation

Clearly! Every deer, bear, or boar I've ever shot had either (1) a wadded up hunk of lead or (2) numerous sharp shards of the bullet, inside. No evidence of "tumbling". I never knew the bullet cleverly wove it's way into just the right spot before transforming. And to think a little bullet...
