I just recently bought that board, but you might have been better off grabbing a 1600+ AGOIA, etc.. I run mine at 1750MHz (166MHzX10.5) no problem. I haven't tried any higher, because I like the 1/5 divider and teh 33/66MHz PCI/AGP speeds. Read my post over on amdmb gigabyte forums about how to...
FYI, I have a K7S5A with a 1.4GHz T-Bird (unoverclocked). It runs ~56C most of the time. never any higher, and rarely lower. case sooling isn't too great. I mounted a case fan blowing over the hs/fan (an OCZ gladiator) and that fixed any crashed but it is still very hot. I tried to get the HALT...
I bought these CDRs at OM for $45, and I jst got an email today that gives me a tracking number for my rebate ($45). And, I have only had one bad CDR so far (it was at the top of the spindle and the metal stuff was bubled I think it was a scratch)

I am just gonna order from outpost and hopefully my order won't get cancelled like the last one I made for an IBM HD. The staples drive apparently has only a 128kb buffer, so I am gonna get a 2MB buffer drive from outpost and use the rebate. bworrell might just be right about...
I didn't think it mattered. Also, I think I found a difference between the Staples drive and the other drives. The staples drive has only 128Kb buffer!!! The other ones have 2Mb.
Do the resellers have to be authorized or are they just recommended "Where to buy"s?

I am searching around for a 30Gb 7200RPM HD, and wanted an IBM or Quantum. I found that Staples Carries Quantum, so I got to pricegrabber and find a place to PM with. WOW!! Other places have it for as much as $23.50 LESS than staples!! I smell a burning hot deal here!! Go to tekbargains and get...
HELP!! The system had major stability problems with the drivers I was using. I couldn't complete a thourough chkdsk on the drive. there was an error at a particular spot and it would freeze when it got to it. I finally figured out that the drivers for the controller were causing the instability...
WHOA!! Major difference! I just ran the benchmark again and got a score of 34387!! I added a setting in the registry which MIGHT have enabled UDMA66 (not sure if it was already). I don't know if that made the difference, or if my first benchmark was bad. I'll run the test several more times to...
well, I am back with some benchmarks. from reviews I have read, it seems that most people use Sandra 2000 as their drive benchmark. However, I could not get Sandra 2000 to run on my win2k machine. So, I used Sandra 2001 instead. The numbers obtained from these benchmarks will be different, so I...
Sorry for not replying sooner. Yes, I finally have it up and running. It works great!! I haven't had a chance to thoroughly test it, but there are a few things I can tell you.
To install Windows 2000, you MUST first install it on a second drive (non-RAID), then copy it over to your RAID drive...
You can turn your onboard UDMA controller into a RAID controller for the cost of a 150ohm resistor!! It is very simple, you simply replace the embedded BIOS for the UDMA controller with the correct RAID BIOS and stick a resistor in your cable! I have already done the BIOS part for you! I edited...
<UPDATE> I have canged the title of this thread to reflect it's development. Please scan through and try to help me with my problem at the bottom of the thread (currently anyway). Thanks </UPDATE>
