Just got a new 4TB Seagate harddrive from a Blackfriday deal.
Put the new drive in and got it all set up. Also copied around 2TB of data to it.
Everything seems to be fine in that regard.
I did notice though that some of the CrystalDiskInfo appears to be off. E.g. the Read Error Rate...
Can anyone recommend a good (free?) MD5 checksum tool that can create a MD5 checksum for a large folder with hundreds/thousands of files and subfolders (e.g. a folder with 60GB of word docs, PDF files, etc in various sub-folders)?
All I can find are tools that generate individual file MD5...

Might look into just installing a plain version of windows on it then (prob Win7 or Win8).
Apparently there is no limitation on the number of user accounts (aside from each taking up 1GB of space) which would allow me to set up shares with per user account permissions.
Using an SBS2008 server as a file server but this thing is slooooooow.
Takes 15-20 minutes to reboot, etc.
How can I speed this up? What unnecessary SBS crap can I uninstall?
This is literally being used as a DUMB NAS with 15 users configured to determine file access.

We have an SBS2003 server that is used as a file server.
People will see different versions of the file on the server which is really f****** annoying.
E.g.:
User 1 will see a file that was list modified on Oct 18, at 11:00am
User 2 will see the same file, only a version modified on Oct...
