Metro pcs would be a good option too, they use tmobile's network. 40 for 3 gb or 50 for 5 gb. Now includes their version of music freedom, streaming music doesn't count against your cap.

Best option is probably just to buy a SIM with a carrier over there. Regular tmobile post paid service includes international roaming at no extra charge for data and texts, $.20/minute for calls.

Metro PCS - good network to switch to?

Metro works well, I used them for a while before switching to tmobile. If you have good tmobile coverage in your area then metro will be the same.

nope, there is only one version of 6.0 that works on any carrier. Follow what Dave posted if you want to flash the factory image, that is the correct method. I'm assuming that you have not unlocked your bootloader previously, so you WILL erase all of your data if you flash. If you want to keep...
