New Build, comments please!

Dont get opteron UNLESS you plan to Overclock, if your not going to, stay away from opterons.

"Official" DFI nF4 Ultra-D / SLI-DR Thread

i have the DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D, and im wondering what slots i put my 2 sticks of ram in for Dual Channel? I've heard a couple of different ways and just want to make sure. I've heard the 2 yellow ones, 2 orange ones, first 2 slots and last 2 slots, which way is correct and best...

Transfering Info on Harddrives

so, i have a 120gig WD hdd, and im looking to upgrade it for biggerness. What im wondering is transfering stuff on harddrives, i have a some games that i dont have the CD to anymore to reinstall them, along with music/papers and whatnot Whats the best way to go about that and all that good...

GOT ATI X1800XT! now what??

Yeah, deffinately go with AMD, that board that guy showed had everything you needed, unless you wanted 2 16x PCI-express slots, in that case the mobo is gonna cost some more money. If you do want 2 16xPCI-e w/o SLI (since you cant use with ATI cards) here is one...

GOT ATI X1800XT! now what??

Other than suggesting going AMD, Any mobo with an PCI-e slot will work for it. If you want to use crossfire (but for a 500 buck videocard i'd assume not) go ahead, but if not anything will work, just dont get an SLI board cuz you cant use it with ATI cards

Coolage with 2800+

So, i check my temp of my comp last night while it was idle, and my processor (2800+ Barton) was at 61oC. Well, that seemed incredible hot for a processor that isnt overclocked. So i opened my pc up to find alot of dust on the cpu heatsink/fan. I clean it off, and also realized that I had no...

AMD processors confusion

I'd think, if someone if having him build the PC's, there not too computer savvy. So they wont know a thing about overclocking. Stay away from Opteron, unless a customer specifically asks for one, but i'd doubt that they would. Just stick with regular AMD's

I got the Lanpart UT Ultra won, so the 92mm fan on that is a nono, the one it comes with barely fits under my 7800gt, would be a good idea tho. With the 2800+ i have the heatsink+fan that came with it, i guess i just thought it blew air away from it. So, im not going to use the duct, just...

AMD X2 4400+ or X2 3800+?

From what i've read up on them, If your not going to Overclock get an X2 If you are going to Overclock get an Opteron But thats just from reading on this site, but it seems as soon as someone ask what processor to get between say like a 3800+ or a 4200+ they just say Opteron for some reason...

Wow, guess your right... It is an intake...Just seems like a perfect exhaust system Well, if the processor has a heatsink and fan blowing hot air up towards the vent, and the vent has a fan blowing cool air towards the other fans...that seems counter-productive Guess ill run without...
