Obviously my 5900X does not pull that much power in this, and clearly you missed the point entirely in your rush to defend your AMD CPU. My point was entirely that a mobile CPU that pulls 10-15w at max under any circumstances is at or on par with desktop variants in this browser benchmark...
Well considering that my Rocket Lake can chug down 200+w and the Ryzen 9 can drink 180+w, yeah it’s a bit concerning a mobile CPU running without any active cooling easily outpaces them both. But yeah I’m sure in general day to day tasks either of my 2 rigs CPUs will crush the M1, but it’s still...
So this M1 Ipad Pro is pretty damn fast ehh? lol This is the base model 128GB with 8GB RAM iPad Pro with the M1 chip. It's faster than both my Rocket Lake and Ryzen 9 CPUs in the benchmark.
Get a better CPU. Really even overclocking it won’t help. The Bulldozer architecture is terrible. Even a Ryzen 3 1200 will handily mop the floor with that old FX chip.
It’s not like we had the fastest card currently available for gaming anyway. If that were so we’d all have Titan Xp as it’s faster than a 1080Ti in all games.
Also a Titan V isn’t twice as fast as a 1080Ti. Sure it is faster but not double, actually it’s not even close to double.
Lastly...
Supply should start catching up real soon. The new facility starting to make coffee lake chips is definitely going to help alleviate the shortage. It's a good sign that newegg has had them in stock for a while now at $415. That means they aren't selling out at the inflated asking price so price...
Why do these treads always devolve into fanboy wars? The reality of the matter is that if he were to get either a Ryzen or Intel CPU he wouldn't notice a difference at all. Both are great at gaming and both can multi task just as well. There is not a single thing out or coming even in the near...
Building a gaming system today there is no point in getting a 7700K. While I'm sure there is plenty of life left in existing 7700K and Z270 for current owners of them, the reality is that it's a dead end street and there is no point to build a new system around them. As everyone else has pretty...
My 8700K isn't very hot at 5Ghz. I haven't delid it either. I'm using a Corsair H100i CLC on it. Nothing too exotic for cooling. Keeps temps around 75C load at 5Ghz with 1.35v
I'm contemplating building a Threadripper rig but at the same time my Ryzen 7 1700 build is still plenty for what I'm doing with my PC.....but that itch is getting harder and harder to ignore......:P
It should work fine in that motherboard. What CPU does he have in it currently? Honestly I would look into a complete overhaul if your budget permits, pretty much every single AMD CPU that fits into that board will be a pretty substantial bottleneck in performance with a GTX 1060. May bhe a...
Try the power supply that you have running in the i7 920 rig on the X370. If you refuse to eliminate possibilities as the potential issue you are never going to get to the root of the problem.
