Buyer beware on this card. I had bought a new Dell XPS awhile back and "upgraded" the sound card to the Audigy 2 ZS and it had major problems with the microphone. Luckily I found this thread on Dell's support forum that documents all the issues with the Audigy 2. I now have an X-Fi card and...

Easy as pie :)
In XP:
Start -> Help and Support -> Click on "Invite a friend to connect to your computer with Remote Assistance"
Follow the wizard from there.
This is what remote assistance feature in XP was made for!?!?
The user doesn't have to determine thier IP or anything, they just have to know your email address or MSNIM name. They send you a request for help and you click on a link and have access to thier computer! It is the simpilest...
If the budget is really that limited why not just use a linksys router? The WRT54G has a stateful packet inspection firewall (SPI) built into it?
And Cisco owns linksys now. So there you go a Cisco firewall for less than $200 ;)
For a little bit more though if you want a little more...
That feature is built in to Windows XP as well just have to use Remote Assistance rather than Remote Desktop. With the remote assistance feature the user that asks for help can drive and you can shadow or they can hand control over to you but they still see what you are doing.
In the end it...
You have to options I can think of immediatly to accomplish your task.
Option 1 is using Remote software:
Connect to Computer B through Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) which is now built into XP Pro. Being that it is on your internal LAN you shouldn't have to worry about any ports or what...
Here is a good article that discusses wireless speakers and some of thier shortcomings.
Seems like overall the sound quality isn't very good. And I don't see any sets that would work specifically for a 5.1/6.1/or 7.1 setup. These look to be designed mainly for having 1 speaker off somewhere...
Pretty cool looking but no I have never seen this before.
However your request intriqued me so I read up on the web and there seems to be quite a few good reviews.
Gizmodo
Tom's Hardware
PCGameworld
However does look like thier software may have some compatibility issues with...
Here are a bunch of Network testers
If you just want to test Patch Cables this one should work fine for only $30.
I use Cables to Go for alot of my networking supplies for clients and so far they haven't let me down. Haven't used this particular tester, but looks like it would do the job.
I will preface this answer with, I have never done this before so I don't personally guarantee that the scanner software will work in a shared environment.
But with the being said I do see some devices that claim that they can share USB device such as Scanners between multiple computers...
If that CAT5 jack is wired back to your router then you don't need any wireless devices or anything. Just but a small 4 or 5 port switch, run a cat 5 from the wall to the switch and then cat 5 cables from the switch to the xbox and the TiVO.
Can't just use a Y-adapter but this effictively...
Here is an article I found of a user with the same issue.
The solution in this case was to just double click on the window border and the missing tabs reappeared. I guess that window has some sort of auto-hide feature or something?
wierd.
Good luck hope that helps!
Not an upload script for your server per say, but you want to talk about simple. send the user to:
http://www.yousendit.com/
Basically he uploads the file here and at the same time it sends you an email with a link to where you can download that file. After 7 days they delete the file...
