The issue is that A510 is a BIG regression from A55
Now is on par with it if the estimates are correct.
Same with the A720 which seems to be now real evolution of A78
And now having rumours of Mediatek no longer using small cores in phones... seems that the small core has their days numbered...
Qualcomm did it too.
Actually...
- X4 seems to be interesting, is the only one who got real performance improvements
- A720 seems to be the new "small" core since only improved efficiency.
- A520 is only having nerfs (one less ALU) and claims better energy comsuption... which seems to be not so...
If that happens, TPM would be the fault and not AMD or Intel... and that is bad news for that tech AND Microsoft since it enforces to use it.
Oh boy, so TPM is not as secure as many tought.
Add a dGPU on it and it became a decent machine for everyday use.
A 12 or 16 small core design with a GTX 1650 Ti GPU would make it a perfect device to use.
The 8 cores are really decent, but again the GPU is the issue. if it has at least a low end Arc GPU or a low end nVIDIA GPU it would make the experience aceptable.
And actually the real price is USD 350. Right now is again at USD 500, which is a scam.
Seems that Cortex X5 might be the true high performance core ARM needs.
Meanwhile any info about the A7XX and the A5XX series?
That's because the A5XX are being less and less used.
WIndows on Rockchip is now an interesting thing. I mean, is totally unexpected to see a port for that OS and even more... this is the first non Qualcomm processor to get said support.
Microsoft needs to step up and open Windows for ARM for the rest of processors.
With the current political situation I don't be surprised if they starts to NOT to care on China's desicions, even if it affects the bussiness in a future
