I got a new SSD because I needed space for GTA V, but I was a little surprised at the loading times (though not terrible). I installed Samsung's Magician software, I think my OS settings are okay (not sure about virtual memory though) but the benchmark does seem to show random reads and...

ping etc tool?

WinMTR hit the spot nicely, thanks mrblotto. I really like pathping except it breaks as soon as a hop doesn't want to respond, the MTR does similar functionality but has no problems with hops that don't respond.

ping etc tool?

What's a good, basic tool where I cna input an IP address and it runs a basic suite of ping, tracert, packetloss etc stats? Preferably something on sourceforge or similar as googling for these things comes up with a lot of suspicious-looking results.

Are Razer mice worth the extra money?

I just broke my Logitech G400. I liked it but maybe a little fragile and I can only get a G400"s" now, which would take a few days to be mailed to me. I do have my eye on the Razer Deathadder, which I can get from a local shop, but at almost 2x the price. Is it worth the premium? (To me...

Sorry for late reply I'd be budgeting around 290 maybe 7800 prices. For that kind of money I don't want to be getting something "last gen" that isn't going to be a priority in driver updates and might struggle with games also being released on the consoles.

Thanks for replies. It's pretty sad that there still isn't anything out to warrant upgrading a 3.5 year old CPU, even if acknowledging it was a good buy at the time. :( GPU side of things more bad timing on my part I guess, should have upgraded earlier really. Crossing fingers for that Q3...

Looking for a good quality headset 60 pounds budget

Came here to post very similar to OP Budget about same, bit more flexible if really worth it. Hard to judge the currency conversion when it comes to electronics goods but I think $100-$150? Decent microphone is a must, no requirements as regards outside noise or being noisy to others...

Which graphics card should i buy for my build - (uk) £240 budget

Since OP has decided and I'm in a similar situation, can I ask: - why 670/680 over a 7xx? - aren't we expecting a new gen of cards from AMD (nvidia?) in this price bracket before long? I don't like to by too late in the cycle as that means they start ignoring the older cards in driver...

Upgrade for a 2500K?

3770K for me is £260 which is ~$405. I have the money, but it seems Intel doesn't have a CPU which is worth it. I have a huge backlog of games bought in Steam sales , when I get chance to have a crack into those I might see if a new card would be worthwhile instead.

Thanks for comments, I think I'll take the advice, stick to what I have and maybe push the OC a little. Really disappointing how little performance has progressed though :( FWIW: HSF is a 212+ MB is Asus P8Z68-V Pro Probably not much point giving an exact budget figure as it'd be in £GBP...
