RE: Games that will support Mantle Many, Many pages ago I posted the list of the 20 games that AMD had referred to. All are accounted for, although a few of them don't have titles yet (unnamed projects). DICE/Frostbite made up the majority of that list. As for games that we will see shortly...

Flaws on Oxide

As I shared two pages ago, Brad from Oxide/Stardock mentioned that the point of this demo is to stress test hardware. Hence all of the 'unnecessary' rendering. He also mentioned that games using the Nitrous Engine would of course be much better optimized for current hardware, and be much more...

I see that gloomy posted the FAQ from the Oxide forums. I didn't realize that they had added a forum to coincide with the demo release - good to know... I fired off a PM to Brad Wardell this morning when I saw this thread (I'm a member over at the Stardock forums), letting him know about this...

I'm sure that's why the word '200mm equivalent is used', so as to compare total wafer production on one table. No doubt the analyst used some formula to translate <=150mm and 300mm production when compiling his figures. He has a separate chart ranking 300 mm capacity, but there are no numbers...

Do keep in mind that the consoles do have CPU cores in them as well as GPU cores, so although they are grouped under the GPU division, the CPU division did contribute to the design. So while the two divisions are 'tracked' separately, at the end of the day they are still one big happy company...

What caught my eye on the Civ V power bench is that the AMD 5xxx, 6xxx and 7xxx APUs all use less power at idle than any of the Intel CPUs... I see a similar trend on the first graph with the 5800K/6xxxK, with only 2 Intel CPUs matching/exceeding the 38w idle numbers. Dunno what's up with the...
