Oops. If low profile is about height, I got it totally wrong. I thought it was about power consumption and noise.

Stuck with Nvidia.

Do you have any other suggestions? I chose 220 just because it's 40nm based cards that doesn't suck up power. If there're any other nVidia cards that are quiet while not needy on power consumption, I'd go for it (If so, it doesn't need to be 40nm.) No, I don't expect low profile Fermi cards...

Thank you all for all the suggestions. After all, I've chagned my mind again and decided to go with this. Not because it's a great card or anything but I realized I've been fine with current 8600GT 256mb. I have that desire to play 3d games in good settings but then again, I haven't played...

Video Editing.

As posted in other thread (by me.) "I like the direction Fermi is taking but I need something right now and lack of information worries me a bit. Even if Fermi comes out as promised, I think it'll take some time for it to be utilized. Worst of all, I fear Fermi might be GPU verion of Pentium...

I decided to go with EVGA E-GEFORCE GTS 250 738MHZ 1024MB 2.2GHZ but I'm not sure even at this point. Still, I doubt if I should go for 5750 for it's as fast as GTS 250 plus 40nm and Directx 11. It'd be easy only if I could get a clear confirmation on the future of CUDA. I know CUDA is more...

Thanks for the great summary. I guess I'll pass 220 though it's 40nm card that I was looking for. Again, gaming isn't my priority but I'd like to have that freedom to play one whenever I feel like it. Based on what you've said, 220 wouldn't even let me have that, I figure. So, what options...

i7 860 setup for video editing.

I'm going to stick with 1156 socket because moving to 1366 costs me extra $100. Also, I know I'll do a whole upgrade once 32nm processors, USB 3.0, and SATA3 come along. In other words, I'll be using this setup a few years as always (2 yrs. minimum) and by the time I upgrade, it'd be better for...

Video Editing.

Q6600 @ 3.2ghz has been quite okay for me until I got myself into this video editing thing. After it took an hour to render 2 min. of footage, I realized i7 is quite needed. Thanksfully, my gf is looking for a new desktop which means I can sell her my current setup and go for i7 for myself...

Am I missing something here? That tattoo looks 100% Nikon, not to mention what the guy said: "since using a Nikon product, I am convinced that I will never use anything else...EVER AGAIN."
