Computer fails to POST sometimes

I am firmly in the Motherboard/Power Supply side of the post here. But I am leaning a bit more toward Power....perhaps a marginal Rail. but a Motherboard issue is certainly within reason also. I would buy a new(quality) power supply, if it doesn't fix your problem then you have a spare power...

*SOLVED* Computer Shuts down

I agree..this sounds very much like a power issue. You need to start with a good quality Power Supply that has ample overhead in power requirements.

64 bit XP

I have been thinking about moving up to the 64bit version of XP. Basic question, has overall support of the 64 bit OS advanced enough (drivers and software) that I would be at little to no risk in moving forward with this? I do a lot of gaming and I want maximum stability to go along with...

No supported wireless adapters available in the system

I don't know about emachine bios, but in the dell laptop bios it will report if you have a wireless adapter installed and if it is a Dell or Intel..which are the two basic ones they offer.

How to test a PSU

Computer locking up don't know if it's mobo or GPU

If you have 2 or more sticks of memory...take them all out and then run your mem test on 1 stick at a time.

Took old MB out...now won't boot

Actually..I agree. I have had excellent results with repair re-installs when swapping out a mobo.

Well, the problems continue even after the 1.3 patch, in fact the patch has introduced a new problem. The Stacks error crashes continue as do the Access violation crashes, now with the new patch myself and my game buddy now get the error "unable to access server" on Coop Campaigns. It also...

LCD Monitor Question

But in reality that is what you are really asking. 1024x768 is a native 4:3 image not 16x9 which widescreens are. You want 1024x768 to run at its native 4x3 and not be streched to a 16x9 display.

GRAW2 is seriously flawed and UBI software is pulling the old EA games trick (C&C Generals) of continuing to throw the problems back in the laps of the owners always insisting it's your hardware. Just there line to get them out of addressing the serious issues this game has.

Random restarts, NTLDR missing

If this works then copy the ntldr file from the floppy to the root of your system directory.

LCD Monitor Question

Is what your are asking is how to run a 16x9 widescreen lcd in a 4x3 mode? I have a samsung 22 widescreen using nivida based graphics card and I have not been able to find a way to do that in the nvidia control panel,
