Just be careful, the word has it that Giftcertificates.com is on the same happy plane to dot-com heaven that Flooz took. Get in and get it quick if you do this deal. I think Fückedcompany had some recent info on a new round of layoffs and money losses.
Ha, looks like all three of us posted basically the same thing all at once. Is there a reason we aren't allowed to mention a "particular other site about DVDs," or are you just being cautious?
Personally, I don't think it's that good of a deal. Unless all or most of the titles you want to buy aren't "enrollment selections." Otherwise, you're better off joining with one of the best codes (all listed on the dvdtalk.com forum). You then get the enrollment titles and fulfillment titles...
That's just about the lowest price you'll find it, so I guess that's a deal. Still expensive, but if you're gonna buy DVD-R media, it's cheaper than the alternative.
Here's one that I haven't seen mentioned. This applies especially to larger, tech-oriented companies. By offering rebates of $100-$200 per (lets say, computers in this case), they can clear out some extra inventory and make way for a new product. However, they are able to announce their profits...
Well, I almost got screwed out of $110 worth of rebates, because both Staples and HP removed the rebate forms for the HP 315 digital camera from their web sites. Luckily, someone on the forum posted links to the rebate forms, I thought I'd have to be stuck paying full price. Guess there's no...
Mosdef is right, a 2x DVD drive will read (or write, as the case may be) about 7 times faster than a CD-ROM drive of similar "speed." That's because the base DVD speed is about 7 times faster than base (150K/sec) CD-ROM speed.
Also, the whole point of DVD-R drives, as opposed to...
Definitely don't actually *give* anyone like that on e-Bay your credit card number. It does sound like a scam if he wants you to actually give your CC number or use some service that you've never heard of. However, if he's using BillPoint, there's no way he can actually ever get your credit card...
For those of you who missed out on the last "PowerBuy," Mercata has another one up for the ReplayTV 3030! Of course, the price starts at quite a bit higher, but we can get it back down to $500 or less if we get enough bids.
Anyone want to go for it?
Wait, where's the deal? There's a whole bunch of places that give out these things for free, even ones *without* irregularities. Just a few that I know offhand include Marriot, Sheraton, Holiday Inn.... ;)
Just kidding, of course. Somehow that was my immediate thought after seeing the thread...
My bet would be exactly what it says in the letter, that someone paid him with a stolen credit card. Do you actually expect PayPal to just shrug it off and take the hit? Under all other merchant account systems that I know of, including BillPoint, the merchant (or "receiver of funds")...
Well, considering that CompuBank *is* an official, FDIC-insured bank, they pretty much have to ask you every question any other bank would. If you went to your local bank and tried to sign up, wouldn't they also ask for SS#, Mommy's maiden name, etc.?
Obviously Dennis is confused, the "Phaser" name has been used for all of the Tektronix printers. Perhaps some old ones used weird paper, but the DP850 I used for a while took regular copy paper just fine.
Chadley, I'm assuming the heat and noise didn't bother you... I have a...
I figured "what the heck," since it was completely free and they had a no-obligation "out" that allowed you to send it back if you weren't completely satisfied. Also, I run a home business, and have a legitimate use for a nice, fast color printer, and easily print over 1000...
