Graphic Card Air Cooling Solution?

He has an EVGA card. EVGA allows aftermarket coolers to be installed as long as you put back the stock one if there is an rma required. No voiding of the warranty:cool:

I have a 9800GX2 and am lovin' it. Since I run an Intel P35 board sli is not an option for me but this dual-gpu card takes care of that. However, based on what your new system plans are, and I think that will be a great system you are building, you have the option of going to two 9800GTX cards...

You would see a lot more than 5% temp drop with a Thermalright HR-03GT and a good 120mm fan fitted to it. Try 15C plus. My previous card was an XFX 8800GTS 512 and the HR-03GT, fitted with a Noctua NF-P12 fan gave me a load temp reduction of 20C on average. Having said that, if you run the fan...

What video card runs smooth at 2560x1600

If you can add a few more bucks, the GX2 is the best card available right now. Prices have dropped a bit on them, and as was suggested, an EVGA or BFG card has the step-up option if Nvidia releases the 9900 within 90 days.

CPU recommendation please

I think the Q6600 would be best for Vlip. This is based on what he wants to use the system for, as well as motherboard compatibility. They are good overclockers as well. The E6850 and the new Wolfdales are more suited to guys like me:D
