Really hoped to hear about the mythical 300$ 1080 level navi card. Instead of that we now have a bunch of power hungry gpu's out of reach in price for most people. It might take more than 3 years to a get a performance per dollar uplift for the 250$ range.
That's only relevant for right now, video games however do not have any problems using all the computing power they can get and i'm not seeing people hesitating buying these cards at these new prices. This means that *60 tier will probably still be the most popular one amongst gamers and...
Great, this probably means that the previously low end gpu tiers (the esports cards like the *50 line) are now creeping into the 200-250$ msrp bracket. Those consoles (even with the price hikes) are starting to look like a decent offering.
32 inches for 1440p has the same pixel density as a 24 inch 1080p screen. Seem like a hefty downgrade to the 32inch 4k dell monitor.
I have an LG 4k VA monitor and have to say that some games look really good on 4k compared to the lower resolutions, not to mention the text sharpness i get when...
Don't most of those 1440p 144hz monitors have TN panels? Is having a monitor with 144hz refresh rate, poor viewing angles and color reproduction a better trade-off than an ips/va, 60hz (freesync/gsync) monitor at 4k for gaming?
Can someone explain how are these kind of prices viable for the retailers in the current climate:

The RX 580 models have now stabilized at around 300~ plus euro range in many parts of Europe, and not even a hint of them coming down to the previous...
You will overpay for that gpu with the current prices and will not get it's full performance on that cpu... That cpu is pretty terrible, actually more terrible than my last cpu:

And that already had...
It's impressive how the gpu prices have been inflated for close to a year now. I should have bought that sapphire rx 480 when it was available for 230 euro about a century ago. I'm stuck with my RX 560 which is a pretty good deal for the 90 euros i paid for it, but not enough for my modest...
Why not just buy the barebone igpu version and add a gpu if/when such a need arises. Maybe by that time you will have better options for more powerful and cheap gpu's.
Bought my 1700 last april, so of course i got one that has the compilation bug. Not really happy about that, since i can't do any crazy compilations on the plethora of threads that this thing has, or use Gentoo as my os. There were also a few early issues with the Asrock 350b bios, but since...
If nvidia gets away with this i wonder if the situation will slowly shift to nvidia influencing their partner to do the "oh, rx '680 mysterybrand' is not our gaming brand, so we try to make it more available to our casual gamer demographic, but we need to cut a few corners to meet the pricing...
This minning boom is insane. If i would want to buy a new card in my area now, the best i could find for somewhat sane price (still too high) is an rx 560. The only avaivable and cheapest model is 130 euro. Because there are literally zero 1060, 570, 580, 1070.. the gtx 1050ti is going for...
Then you will be wasting money on a powerful card that you will not abe able to use properly, because in a years time there should be new gpu architectures out for a lesser price and better performance. I'd go with the cheapest gt 1030 or rx 550 (or maybe a used card in the 40-50$ range) you...
