SD, You didnt' have to install all that other crap to update to the latest drivers? Because, Creative says you have to have all that other crap installed.

Incorrect Athlon XP 1600 Temperature??

Can you FLASH your BIOS from cd?

Has anyone tried this? I mean, the cd is bootable as is the cd-rom drive, so why not?

KR7A-R + Audigy=no POST

The system boots and runs fine without the Audigy in it. As soon as I pop it in, no POST. I've tried different PCI slots and tried the "mem hole" BIOS setting, neither approach worked. Do i need a new card?

Booted with CMOS jumper in wrong postion!!

The mobo is powering up, the LEDS actually came in handy for that. But it won't POST. I'm having my friend test the RAM, i can't imagine the RAM going bad, but at this point, there's nothing left.

Abit KR7A-Raid Troubles :(

Are the sticks the same manufacturer? Same speeds? I've read that PC1600 and PC2100 don't mix. Try slots 3+4.

I'm a friggin idiot!! My system won't boot. What exactly happens when you try to boot with the CMOS jumper in the wrong position? The manual says not to have the power even plugged in when you do this, so trying to boot I assume is even worse. Is my board toast? I've tried clearing the CMOS...

which xp?

There's a thread running right now about the abilities of the 1500+, which is the lowest XP. If you go all out and unlock the multipliers, you can get 1900+ perf out of it. I think at this point the yields of chips are good enough that the 1500+ will easily do 1900+ speeds.

KR7A + Audigy = no boot?

I set the BIOS settings to SAFE DEFAULTS in all the screens, and it's working now. I didn't realize you had to go into every screen to do that, i thought once you selected LOAD SAFE DEAFULTS, it did it for all the screens. SO, now i have the chore of digging through all the settings to see...
