Best value used (ebay) Intel socket LGA775 CPU?

I upgraded an e2200 to an e8600 last year for like $50 and felt like a winner. But from the chips you have I think it's not worth it. Maybe the quads but they are much more expensive.

Low power + modular

For sure I don't need the wattage, I could get away with the 360W, but that one actually isn't modular. Same for the XFX model suggested by lehtv, Antec Earthwatts 380W, any number of other things. The review of the Temjin case was quite insistent that it demands a modular unit though. I guess...

AMD HD8xxx specs

I'm also on a C2D, totally considering upgrading from my $9 2400XT to the new Oland 8570, if they sell it at retail. New version of Turks 6570, at 28nm and Direct3D 11.1, what's not to like?

B75 or a Z77 motherboard?

Yeah I am on LGA775, just upgraded from E2200 to E8600 & got the SSD. I don't have SATA3 but can probably stick work with this until at least Haswell.

What I'm after is general system responsiveness, and smooth scrolling, consistent frame rates on heavy sites like Google+. Nothing that should require a $100 graphics card, or a full rebuild. But I did read a bit on how Windows 8 is using Direct3D 11.1 to improve base OS and IE10 responsiveness...

Again, at 65w TDP for the GT 640 compared to 18w for the HD 6450 these are not in the same price/power consumption/performance class. My question is about future products, not looking for suggested purchases. The 610/620/630 e g. are not Kepler, just rebadged Fermi. They thus are less efficient...

Any news/rumors on either AMD or Nvidia releasing new versions of their low-end, low power graphics cards which support DirectX 11.1? I am looking to upgrade an old desktop which currently has GMA 3100 integrated graphics, and I'd like to get the full "hardware accelerating everything" benefits...
