Murdoc,
I had similar problems with my a7v133. Both os's installed got corrupted and couldn't get it to install anything on a new hdd. Ended up replacing the board. Hope you have better luck.

My 10 mo old sent a glass of pop down the front of my computer and it got into all of optical drives. Burned up my Sony DVD±RW and won't boot as a result. I unhooked the DVD drive and still wouldn't boot. Booted a Win 98 setup floppy and could read the drive. Decided to try to repair...
It fits just fine. I've got one on my a7v133 right now. I'm not as impressed with the fan just because it stopped on me - just about melted down my processor. The case was atleast open and I was just lucky to put my finger on the heatsink and just about got burned. Put my finger in the famous...
I just got a Radeon 64MB DDR vivo Retail for $201 from mwave.com. There might be a little better prices but they also had a great deal on IBM 75gxp drives ($145 for 45 GB) so I got there to save on shipping. It should be the higher clocked version (retail) but I will not find out till next...
Not completely sure but it looks a lot like a MB that I yanked out of a Gateway P200 a while back. You need to blow up the othe intel chip (the northbridge) as it it the main one that will be listed when browsing the mb manufactures site. I'll check on it tomorrow to see if it looks the same...

I would agree. Looking through the manual pdf it looks like the optimal setting tweaks the memory system pretty good. It didn't weigh too heavily on my decision to order the A7V133. Hopefully it's here when I get back from my trip.
I believe most all of the KT133A MB's have 3 phase power. At least ASUS A7V133, Abit KT7A, and Epox 8KTA-3 do.
This is probably a requirement for processors of the near future.
looks like pc1600 based computers will run on par with the pc133 (KT133A) boards. I have been waiting for crucial to come out with pc2100 ddr ram but I'm not sure how much longer I can wait (new box is sitting next to me telling me to fill it up). As far as MB go you can go with the Iwill (Ali...
This is kind of a tangent but upon examining the new cables that came with my scsi card the u160 cable (still a flat cable) has the pairs twisted between the connectors. They are pretty cool looking to say the least although it would be cooler if they were round
<< I thought so but I've heard other people say it doesn't. Maybe that was on another forum. Thanks for making me sure though. >>
I think it's probably because Abit brags it up more in there spec pages and most reviews usually cut & paste the specs into their reviews. The reviewers seem...
I did a mb swap on a gateway P200 a while back. Put in a MSI kt7-pro and an athlon 700. I also swapped in a decent 300w ps, hdd, and modem(lightning hit). It wasn't too bad save for having to modify the io plate to match the new mb. At least all of the existing stuff was in the right spot just...
I thought xfree86 4.0.2 included drivers for the radeon chipset. As far as which card it shouldn't matter. There are most likely some options that can be set in the config file for things like memory and such.

The Epox 8KTA3+ looks kind of interesting (has a raid controller) I've got to buy a MB in the next 2-3 weeks. Not sure whether it will bee ddr or KT133A. Just have to wait a little bit and see.
