If you are just looking for dialup speeds you might look at a data plan for your cell phone.
Some can use a USB cable with GPRS service or there are more expensive and faster data plans.

Oxford 911 is firewire only, Oxford 922 is firewire and USB.
Most of the combo drives I see are Prolific not Oxford though.
I believe the Oxford 922 chipset is very new and supports the New Firewire 800Mbps standard (instead of 480Mbps)
