new sata dvd drive won't spin

yes its powered.. and it ejects disks just fine from the button on the drive and the eject disk command in windows. i have a sata hd that works fine so id be hard pressed to believe its a sata problem on the mobo. But it is a crappy ECS micro board from Frys so who knows..

Hi guys, my dvd drive was going south so I got a samsung from newegg. Its SATA, recognizes in windows and in the bios, but it won't boot a vista or XP disc at startup, nor will it load anything when in XP. It just shows a blank explorer window. Tried making the drive my only bootable drive...

Hot : DVI Cables

i concur on the monoprice thing, i got some optical and hdmi cables for wicked cheap and ridiculously low shipping. i have a thin dumpy component cable from radioshack, and a fancy heavy gauge one with the tight gold connectors that cost 80$ long ago and cant tell a difference. ' oh yeah...

Kill-a-Watt Electricity Usage Monitor $29

i just got one a month ago.. found that it costs 70W just to have the monitor on and 4W to have it in sleep.. oh and 3 cents to cook a burger on the george forman :)

resident evil 4 (RE4) for GC Gamecube: 19.99

i went to ebx and picked it up for 20.. AWESOME game.. so fun, and hard.. will definitely play through again. from what i know it is not a players choice.

ATSC Tuner ( HDTV ) $69.97 Radio Shack

i bought one used off a guy on these forums since I couldnt find one and it works great.. I was using an old AM antenna from an old receiver and jabbing it into the coax and actually got a semi-decent signal in most cases. Nice!

"major brand name" 52" dlp, DVI, component, no tuner 1199 in the friday frys ad!

Saw it in the portland ad, thats a fantastic price I got my toshiba 52 incher with no tuner for 1600 on clearance back in september. "major brand name" could be samsung toshiba panasonic mitsubishi the picture looks like a samsung, but that is misleading I'm sure
