I have the Logitech. Works fine on my desktop, but I never have it more than about 4' away from the base station. No troubles with games, but the only one I've played on that system is Pro Bull Rider 2. Cordless is nice - less clutter around my desk.

I saw it on NewEgg in stock earlier today, put 2 in my shopping cart, but then after I added a few more things, it showed up as out of stock in my shopping cart. Doh! :(
Since you haven't built a system before, is it worth a few hundred $ to have the security of being able to go back to a reputable dealer if something goes wrong? Or would you be prepared to potentially jump through the hoops yourself if all wasn't well with a system you built?
