A friend is selling his computer. It's a P4 2.8Ghz, 80GB HD, 512 ram, 15" monitor, DVD/CD-RW. He says he paid $400. I'm thinking $150. What's a fair price? This is my first computer in 6 years.

Just curious to know which would be faster in this situation:
two harddrives, one with firewire/usb2.0 and the other usb2.0 only.
I want to copy one harddrive to the other one via a laptop.
Is it faster to copy firewire to usb or usb to usb? i know that usb has a higher max speed but maybe...

when i was reading about fat32 vs ntfs, it didn't mention the limit of formatting capabilities. It only said that i would have to use ntfs when dealing with HDs larger than 137GB. http://cquirke.mvps.org/ntfs.htm

one thing though...what do you mean no 42" has true HD??? explain. There are plenty of 42" that are true HD.
I just put together a Western Digital 40GB 2.5" 5400rpm HD and a usb 2.0 no-frills external case. I couldn't format the drive as FAT32 in Computer Management in W2K while connected to my usb 1.1 port. It kept receiving an error message at the end of the formatting - "Volume size too big."...
i don't even have the volume control in windows...no icon....nothing is muted or unmuted...damn this sucks...i have to reformat and i don't know what to do with all of my data...mostly mp3's that i DON'T want to redownload...damn it...
