I occasionally get online on an unsecured and unencrypted wireless network, such as the ones at Starbucks. What I'm wondering is whether it's a good idea to log into vital sites (email, bank accounts, etc...) and send login credentials through the air. Am I okay as long as I have the pad lock...

Is a Parking ticket with a typo valid?

Here in New York City, you can request that a ticket be dimissed if it is incorrectly filled out, It's the Law: Your Rights When Disputing a Defective Parking Ticket . I've actually gotten two tickets dismissed ($110 each) because the meter maid incorrectly filled out the make of my car.
