I did uninstall Cat3.2 before downloading 3.1. In 3.1, Counter Strike don't even initialize and download. It just kicks me out of the game and to my desktop. I did a roll back and now back to my original driver Cat2.4.
I play a lot of Counter Strike on my 9500 PRO and have tried using Cat3.2 and 3.1 but went back to my original driver 2.4. I'm thinking of trying 3.1 again because I feel I didn't give it much chance to run on my computer(30 minutes). I might need to change some configurations in the ATI...
I was getting the blank screen when I try to exit CS and sometimes even kick out while playing. I decided to uninstall 3.2 then installed 3.1 instead. It got worse, I can't even connect to a game. After initializing, CS kicks me out. Last thing I did was roll-back my ATI driver to 2.4 which came...
Same problem on 3.1. I get the message Initializing and downloading then it kicks me out and gets me back to my desktop. I tried both on D3D and OpenGL but nothing worked.
That's it for me. After 2 days of black screen, I decided to uninstall Cat 3.2 and I'll try to play CS with 3.1 instead. Hopefully OpenGL will work fine.
J5im8yo - still have problems?
I just updated my ATI Cat driver to 3.2. I went to Device Manager to check my connection. IRQ is showing my driver installed in PCI instead of AGP. How can I change the settings? Do I need to reinstall the driver again?
I haven't played UT2003 but I've played CS on my new Radeon 9500PRO. I had problems with Cat3.2 on DirectX 9 then somebody suggested to use Cat3.1 instead and it worked. Now try downloading Cat3.1 then update your ATI driver.
I've heard that some have changed from cat3.2 to 3.1 and issues were fixed. I thought since 3.2 is more recent its supposed to have more fixed. I just recently installed Radeon 9500 PRO on my pc as well.
I've been reading a lot about what setting to use for 9500PRO and here's what others have used so far:
- DirectX8.1
- Cat 3.1
- 1024X768X32
- 4X AA
- 6X ANISO
- 100FPS
And majority agreed that using Rage3D Tweak help a lot.
I returned my FX5200 today and got ATI 9500 PRO 128MB. I'm installing it as I type this message. I'm installing Catalyst and do you recommend I do Express or Custom?
My old computer had GeForce2 MX400 and I never had probelms playing CS. With FX5200, I was having a hard time with the game. I went to BestBuy to return the card but they were close today(Easter Sunday). I'm getting the ATI 9500 PRO 128MB instead, its another $100 bucks but hey I'll feel better...
