Thanks much. I actually remembered I had a Western Digital cd, the quick test showed no problems but the full test found and fixed problems and here I am, back in business like nothing happened. I just assumed there had to be hardware failure when windows installer couldn't do anything, but...

Well I can't even reinstall windows, it sees the disc but then hangs very early on "examining the disc..." when I start the install process. Is this a bad disc, motherboard, or sata cable? I don't have another sata computer to swap them out and test them individually, all I can think is to...

Last night the box worked fine, today it starts loading XP for a while then restarts itself, starts loading XP a while then restarts itself, ad nauseum... "Load last working config" does the same thing. On Safe mode it hangs at the line with "giveio.sys" Using a BartPE disc it boots into...

I hate shaving

I shave my beard edges and neck once a week, 30 seconds, and trim with an electric trimmer twice a month. It frees up more time for tieing my shoes. Anybody who would have issues with a neatly trimmed beard is a relic I wouldn't want to work for anyway.

Yeah, this is not unusual at all. Besides, no one says you have to drive. Take a bus. ;) By the way, you are tracking your miles and paying the higher rate to your auto insurer if more than half are business related, right?

Free Movie Tickets - Peaceful Warrior

Having skimmed the book at a bookstore, I will say that it is an obvious and talentless rip-off of the Carlos Castaneda books by a hack looking to cash in. Given that, I would expect any movie to royally blow. But if they're actually giving away tickets...it gives me shivers to think of it...

Yes exactly, it lists raid drivers only, I specified them anyway but it still didn't see the drive. I've got a ticket with Epox, hopefully they'll send me the bios soon since I can't download it from them.

I know its best to leave 5-10% of a drive empty, is the same true of partitions within the drive - does it slow things down when they are near capacity as well?
