explorer.exe 100% cpu usage

I have to agree with amdskip. I think at that point your pretty much looking at a reinstall. Whatever spyware you had did some ugly damage to Explorer. I had the same problem a year or so ago and could never get it fixed.

Windows xp pro startup problem

Sounds like somethings messed up in the windows configuration, either a driver thats bad or an application thats preventing you from booting in. Whatever you just installed previously, try taking it off and rebooting

How to have have speakers and my Zalman Theatre 6 at the same time?

There are splitters out there that you can get at Radioshack to have two audio devices connected into a soundcard. You'll have to check with the guys there though. Last one I saw was two years ago

As to what CD drives have it well its a burner format so your probably only going to see it in the more recent burners, pretty much ever 52x or newer. As to regular drives that support it it shouldn't matter as long as their relatively new and support reading of CD-RW. Btw, Google is your friend

Comcast and Bit Torrent

I run bittorrent behind a router on my Comcast at home and have never had a problem. However, my apartment has DSL and I'm behind a router and quite often when I get on bittorrent it'll kill the connection for whatever else is running (like IRC, IM, etc.). The only thing I can reason out is that...

Bit Torrent question, how does it work? why is it better than direct connect ++?

Bittorrent works by having a starter file, called a torrent that you download to your system. It basically has the "layout" of the file/files your downloading. Information like sizes, m5sum values, etc. Once you download the file and launch it in your bittorrent client it then sends a ping back...

Abit NF7-S vs AN7

I'd say stay away from the AN7. From everything I've read (though haven't experienced yet) it does not overclock nearly as well as having some odd temperature problems that I AM experiencing. Its also not supported by motherboard monitor :(

cannot delete file in windows xp?!

One other note: if you use Direct Connect this was a common problem with older versions of the program. It would basically "lock" a file so you couldn't remove or delete it. Was fixed in the latest (2.20) version. Not sure if thats what happened for you but thought I'd throw it out since you got...

Free Windows Security / Critical Update CD from M$

I signed up to have one sent to my home and a couple to work. I already have most of them burned to a CD anyways but it never hurts to have good, solid duplicates :)

Windows setup issue....

Well...you could be one really lucky person and have a mis-marked drive from WD but...somehow I doubt that. I think its more reasonable to assume that the firmware/controller chip on the hard drive is damaged. Honestly have never seen that before though

Remove duplicate WinXP install?

In your root C:\ directory you should have a file called boot.ini (You might have to go into Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> enable show Hidden files and folders). In that file you'll see two entries for Windows XP which is what your seeing when booting into windows. You'll have to remove one...

Would this memory work on an Nforce2 mobo?

Should work fine. All the specs look like what would be required by the nForce2 board though you might get some fun settings if you tell the memory controller to read off of the memory's native timings. You might have to force them yourself

Mixing ATA drives on the same IDE channel

It should default back to ATA/100 to support the older disk, not that there would be any sort of a difference. No hard drive even bursts above ATA/66 yet though the 73Gb Raptors get really close. If you want the best overall performance though have each drive on their own channel, that way they...

What your likely hearing is just the sound of the air being pushed through the fan and possible through the grill. If its a standard drilled type grill on the case you might want to cut it out with a dremel or sheet metal cutters. It'll give the fan less resistence and maybe make a tad bit of...
