So now your argument is all about progress? This progress isn't worth the $$ at the moment nor is it performance king.
Now the price will drop. The situation will be different then and my opinions may be different. Until then let's talk about what is now.
You don't need to include any future ATI cards in the discussion for your position to be wrong. (Regardless of how they perform there is already another card in the Nvidia line that keeps the crown away from GTX 280)
Fixed again. Not only $$$ but also peformance.
Performance is the end product. It already accounts for scaling.
A quote: "but for $150 less than a GTX 280 you get a faster graphics card with NVIDIA's own GeForce 9800 GX2." from ? ;)
Eh Right now it is not worth it. When prices drop then I will change my mind but price/performance just is no good. There is only so much premium you can pay for the fact it is a single GPU (even though it doesn't perform as well now even after you account for single/double GPU). Now this...
You are mistaken. Ignoring type of input (say it matches what ratio your monitor is), then a diagonal of a 4:3 screen will yield greater viewing area than the equal diagonal of a 16:9 screen. Just DO THE MATH. This is obvious since 4:3 is more square-like.
Some math.... say we have an D...
I agree. What performance do you get for what price? This includes the quality of drivers. Other considerations should be made only if talking about the future (sustainability) or technology itself (to learn?).
