Their Threadripper review is the only one on the Internet that puts it onpar with mainstream Ryzen and Intel processors. I'm starting to think Steve is just incompetent instead of shilling for the underdog brand.
Let the red team use it to troll though. They won't have much ammo left to use after October 5th besides the usual "good enough," "but it costs less," "I get to upgrade to Zen2 on the same board," "Intel and Nvidia are evil. AMD are the good guys."
It is a BIOS driver issue. Most competent reviewers including the one on this website are saying that before jumping into conclusions. Most Youtubers don't even know what they're talking about.

No Ryzen loses more than it wins in productivity against 7800x. There's a reason why Coffee Lake will max out at 6 cores because that's all they will need to keep the performance crown. 1800x at maxed overclock is still slower than a stock 7820x and uses more power.
