most laptops you can really only upgrade memory, hard drive, and possibly cpu on very easily. some of the gaming laptops have where you can upgrade the video card but the designs are usually based around being able to cool the factory GPU. Best bet is to sell the current and get a new/newer one.
Nice call. I had been looking at the gigabyte model but my last nvidia cards have been evga brand and the free game sounds like a win!
I went ahead and bit on the 460 but I went with the lifetime warranty version for $10 more. Hopefully this should last me thru an upgrade to an i7
I'm looking to replace my 8800gt with a new card. For budget I'm open to spending the 200-250 if its something that might last a little (which with video card I know isnt much)
Here's the rest of the rig
Q9450 OC to 3.2ghz
4gb DDR2 memory

Celeron E3200 and MSI G31TM-P21
might be good htpc or to upgrade a family members old single core
with one that bad you might need to slave the drive into a clean box that you dont care if you lose.
Some of those are rather nasty. I'd start with some manual clean and check the hosts file and clean it out then check the typical autorun registry entries and remove what you can there...
69.99 in store and $10 mail in rebate.
Seems like a good deal since newegg sells the cpu alone for $95.99

a non admin account is just to help but a local user account still has rights and some exploits/drive by downloads can install without admin rights. those fake av ones are rather nasty to clean up. check your hosts file first so you can start clean up
Just another point of view but many of the regulatory/audit standards all require a password strength complexity and frequency of change.
This alone is another reason why many companies may have to enforce this "best practice"
Thank you auditors :)
