Advice on getting a high-tech internship

I don't work for Intel but both those classes you described are covering important aspects of design. I don't know how things are structured at Intel but at AMD there is a circuit team dealing with logic synthesis tools such as VHDL and a CAD team involved in translating the circuit teams...

I really didn't the OP was looking for any sort of precision in his answer, especially he was throwing out R&D, CapEx, and labor costs. But maybe other people are interested. If you want to really get a good idea about manufacturing costs including labor, CapEx, and R&D let's look at...

Random answer not based on any actual product/company is less than $10. Depends how many you can fit on a single wafer.
