Screwing up... how so? Remember - the Palomino core is at the end of it's life in a sense. There will be no new models released with the Palomino core. It's a mature product and it's been developed quite a long way. The result now is that a good proportion of their chips seem to be very high...

...no, it's because 1600+ chips from NewEgg have recently been AROIA or AGOIA steppings. These have tended to be better overclockers than the AGOGA's.

Does the Epox 8K3a+ have a 1/6 PCI divider?

General consensus says that there is no 1/6 divider on the 8K3A series. Some say that it could be implemented but that EPOX choose not to. Others claim that the silicon simply can't do 200fsb stably.

How can you tell if you have kt333 "CE" chipset?

There definitely is a 1.2 revision of the 8K3A+ - I own one. I believe that the principal difference between versions 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 was that the 6-channel audio was introduced and also an SP-DIF interface was introduced. I don't recall which of the two came in with 1.1 and which arrived...

If it's a relatively recent chip then the chances are - yes - it probably will work at 166fsb (i.e. 11*166=1830). Check the stepping revision. If it's AGOGA, AGOIA or AROIA then you're quite likely to have a successful overclock. The voltage you'll use will be the minimum required for...

Not exactly, no. I suspect it would be a useful increase, especially due to the additional cache. Consider this, though... P3s are horribly over-priced now (>300USD). For the cost of a Tualatin 1.4 you could buy a faster Athlon, a new motherboard and some DDR. I wouldn't bother making...

From an OC perspective, is it worth the $25 to get the XP1900+ over the XP1800+ ?

You can go to 2000+ without changing the L10s. If I were you - I'd buy and unlock the 1800+ then run as a 2000+. Should be no sweat at all for current steppings. If you're not into o/c-ing - then just go for the best price point. For me that's still the 1800+. If you want to go all-out -...

Athlon 1.2Ghz Multiplier

You'll probably have to mod the L10 bridges. They have two positions - one gives multipliers up to 12.5* and the other gives higher multipliers. My guess is that you tried 13* (from default 12* ?). Or, simply, the L1's are not properaly unlocked. See this guide.
