yes, it's a serious post. the fact that you confuse the "points" in the post with the KKK is blowing smoke. the issue here is whether (white) America wants a black president. if you do, that is your perogative.

I'm surprised to read so little in this thread about the race thing. Seems to me Obama's selection automatically makes race the issue and all this liberal/conservative stuff merely jibberish for this election. Is there any doubt if Obama is elected that in the next 8 years we'll be importing...

Must An External Drive Remain Plugged In?

I'm storing my necessary office files on a WD My Book External Hard Drive. Would like to know whether unplugging the External Drive will cause me to lose the files. If I can keep the drive unplugged, can it remain unplugged indefinitely and still hold its data?

yes, that's it. you get a 4 x 3 inch "Security Alert" that pops up about every 60 seconds. if you click on it, Internet Explorer pops up with a Spyware Program to purchase. Extortion, I know, but thinking it might be worth the $70 bucks to just get rid of the thing instead of hours trying to...

wow. i think i've just got the same thing. from Latvia. spyware pop ups all over the place. I am disappointed that my Symantec failed to catch this. anybody have any ideas on that?

Asus p5e and e8400 woes

Maybe Asus could have something on their webiste how to handle the situation of vendors still selling boards with 10/17/07 bios. I've had the identical problems and more. e8400. p5e, corsair dominator DDR2800 2.4V 3-4-3-9. I bought a Pentium 4 631 Cedar Mill for $67.00 and a $15 stick of DDR2...

txs very much. may I bother with one more q. what puzzles me is that the video was working fine when I shut off the power button, then nothing when i turned it back on a moment later. this is exactly the same thing that happened with my first Asus P5E that was RMA. assuming the processor did...

Noob Needs Help

guess your saying you can fry the processor (core duo) in 60 seconds. i noted it was quite hot to the touch after the one min. BUT, i thought the core duos shut themselves off when overheated??? (i did not monitor bios or bios temps. just sat there thanking the good lord for the boot.)

I'm on my 2d MB from New Egg, Asus P5E. Computer Tech upstairs determined 1st that 3 of 8 functions dead, so RMA. Now, second board arrives, and I take extreme care. Put MB on its anti static sheet on cardboard box, installed memory, video card, and cpu, plugged on monitor and keyboard...
