Jeremy, Did you use the speaker setup utility (test sounds) in the Realtek soft so that you know you have the speakers plugged correctly? Is what you're listening to actually 5.1? If you used the speaker setup utility and each speaker made a sound as it should in the setup then you have 5.1...

Abit board Rebooting w/ added Ram?

I'd start by testing the new ram by itself and then with all the ram in place. I'd suggest using memtest86+ to test it. I'd definitely say the new sticks might be suspect.

Difference of A8N SLI DEllUX and Premium?

That's a pretty interesting concept, consider looking at my sig and looking at some of the popular places to purchase around here like ZZF and Newegg. Maybe you'd like to see a picture of it running in my system? This begs the question of why some people answer a thread they really know nothing...

computer won't install windows?

Some of idea of what the spare hardware is you're using would be helpful also. This could be due to something being faulty (memory in particular, test it with memtest86+) or not being sufficient for the OS. You don't specify which Windows version so I'll assume XP. Does the hardware all meet...

Difference of A8N SLI DEllUX and Premium?

The Premium has software/bios switchable SLI vs hardware switchable on the Deluxe and the Premium has passive heatpipe cooling on the chipset and the Deluxe has a fan that is often referred to as being a bit loud.

Any difference with these 2 types of RAM

I think I'd pose that question to ZZF because I don't see the KVR400AK2/1GR product listed here but you will find the KVR400X64C3AK2/1G in that listing. The assumption is that they have different timings but the shorter part number doesn't give a hint as to what it might be although in ZZF...

Provided the software has the capability. Such as, I believe that the WinDVD software provided with this board (and all I know of actually) is only the 2 channel version, Intervideo wants you to buy the upgrade which allows 5.1, etc. The examples of included PowerDVD I've seen have the same issue.

Help choosing a new mobo..

I don't think you're gonna find one (a socket 939 mb) with a third PATA connector, I don't know of any and I think I'm pretty familiar with all the 939 PCIe boards available. SATA is current tech and the PATA are there mainly for CD/DVD drives and if you have an old PATA drive or two you want to...

Downloads for ASUS A8N-SLI Premium??

You don't want the 64-bit dirvers unless you're installing the 64-bit version of XP/2003. The only thing you really should download is the NF4 Standalone package from Nvidia's site, everything else on the supplied CD is current and it will likely come with the latest released bios 1005, mine did...
