    Advice needed - GA-P35-DS3R Rev. 1

I just received my new GA-P35-DS3R yesterday. Unfortunately it is Rev. 1. I am wondering if Rev. 2 is much superior? I would like your opinion whether I should keep it, or I should return it and wait until they have Rev. 2 in stock here in Canada. I was successful in installing this new MB...

    Swapping ASROCK880Pro-VSTA with GA-P35-DS3R

I am also wondering if it is a good idea to install the Gigabyte drivers while the ASRock Via board is still in the computer? Then when I boot with the new MB all the drivers should be there.

    Swapping ASROCK880Pro-VSTA with GA-P35-DS3R

I spend a lot of time searching for the best way to swap motherboards without reinstalling XP. Here's what I think I should do. Please correct me if you see anything wrong. 1. In safe mode unintall all Via drives - most importantly the Via IDE drivers. 2. Choose Windows IDE driver if...

zaqzax The 10:8 ratio does not look right. I don't think this MB has this ratio. You are probably using something to read your memory speed that is not working probably. I use the latest version of CPUZ, which is version 1.37. The earlier versions showed weired numbers like yours.

Hey noxon, wow man. You've done an outstanding job. Congrats. Really great results with the MB. I'm at stable 310FSB with an E6400 but that's as far as I've been able to push it.

soybeast, Sorry. I checked the manual and it says that it supports DDR266. So, I was worong. You memory should work.

I think your PC2100 memory can run at 262 speed. The calculation is 2100 / 8 = 262. I think it should be okay with any Pentium CPU that runs on 200 FSB. That would include any Pentium Dual Core processor. If you see this AnandTech's article, you will see the motherboard has a 3:2 ratio...

I have an E6400. I also have an OCZ gold kit of 2 X 1 GB DDR2 800 memory. I have much better luck in getting the FSB to higher numbers with ALL the memory latency settings on AUTO. As soon as I set one of them manually, it acts up on higher FSB. I have two scenarios that both work very...

    ASRock 775 + Any Conroe + DDR 1 = What Overclock?

I have a E6400 Conroe. With one 512 MB stick of old high quality Corsair 450, I was able to get it very stable on 312 FSB. But with one stick the Sandra memory scores are pretty low. I have since bought two sticks of DDR2. Here are the settings I used for the DDR1: Overclock mode Async...

If you are plugging the sticks in the USB port on the front of your case, the problem maybe due to the connctor in the case. Some older cases have connectors that only comply with USB1 standards. Try using the connctors in the back of the motherboard to see if you get the same message.

Spacecomber, I just upgraded my memory to 2 GB of OCZ Gold 800DDR. It's working very well. Here are a couple of pointers for you. 1. Don't let the FSB on auto. It will set it at 256 like you said. If you set it to 266, then CPUZ would show 266, like it's suposed to. 2. If you set...

My high temp problem with 2.10 was related to the change I made in the BIOS when I enabled the "Quiet Fan Option". FW 2.10 seems to be working very good for me.

    ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

With 1.90 fw my e6400's idle temp was 42, full load was 48. After I flashed the BIOS to 2.10, I have noticed the idle temp has gone to 50. I didn't dare to let run full load. I haven't done anything else that could account for this rise in temperature. Please check your CPU temperatures...

Does anybody know if this memory would work? OCZ Gold XTC PC2-6400 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-800 CL5-5-5-12 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit BTW, my system is working great. It's rock solid and double prime stable at FSB 312. I'm using just one 512 MB stick of Corsair XMS DDR 450, which I...

Asus P4PE vs. Albatron PX84PEV Pro - Mem settings

I've read many reviews and hundreds of posts in various forums. My choice is Asus P4PE. It has the least of issues amongst the newer boards. I don't think you can go wrong with it. I read on another forum that the cold booth issue is related to extreme overclocking. Only very few people...
