1280x1024 vs 1280x960

1280x1024 is actually LESS wide than 1024x768 or any other 4:3 resolution for that matter (its 5:4 i think). Widescreen 16:9 would have been 1280x720. So Newegg are most deffinately wrong if they consider 1290x1024 widescreen!

FEAR and Quake 4 kills my rig

I play Fear at 1920x1200 with 4xAA and 16xAF. Everything turned up, and get around 35fps on average. Fear is very tough on the CPU, hence why it has different settings for physics, on my old processor i had to turn the physics down, but on my X2 it works on the second highest setting with no...

You should easily be able to play Quake 4 maxed out with that setup, i play it at 1920x1200 on mine on very high (ive never bothered with the useless Ultra Mode). Fear is a lot more demanding on the CPU. You'll probably be able to max out the graphics setting, but cut back on the physics so...

What a joke, ATI and Nvida expect us to buy separate PSUs for G80 and R600

I agree with this too. One more plug on the outside of my case wont matter, but ive got enough heat (and noise...) inside my case anyway. Didnt the Voodoo 5 cards have external power supplies?

bfg physics accelerator

At the moment it mostly looks to be extra eye candy, but i do think the card has got potential to really change the way we interact with objects in games.... its just a matter of how long it takes for those big changes to really happen.

DVI-to-HMDI or VGA

It will only get downscaled (or most likely, not displayed at all) if the content on the PC is protected by HDCP. So unless your viewing anything protected on your PC, then your TV will have no problem dispaying it at the correct resolution.

Another 2405 user gets blurred text

Are you running at the native resolution? (1920X1200) if not then what would explain the fuzzy text. You really need to be able to output at that res to get a crisp image. If you have no problems at the same resolution on another machine, then it indicates a problem with the machine, and not...

Well of course its all subjective, my case fans, HD fans and CPU fan drown out the VF900 fan anyway, even though my case is very quiet when theyre turned down. Its certainly a lot quieter than the leaf blower that is the stock fan :).

Im using it on mine and its great. Cooler than stock and silent at 100%. I didnt like the look of the X2 because of where the hot air got expelled, while my zalman blows it straight at an extractor fan above the card.

Transfering VHS tapes to Computer and then to DVD

Use something like Ulead Video Studio it can convert any video source to a DVD very easily. Pinnacle Studio will do the job too. Both are pretty similar.

If a GF 2 MX PCI 32M has 4 memory chips, what bus width does it have?

A GF2 MX is deffinately faster than a Voodoo2. The V2 was contending with the original TNT, so the GF2 is 3 generations newer than that V2.
