Is it logical to get the $50 XP-120 over a $40 XP-90?

Yeah xp-120 way to go for serious air cooling overclocking. If your mobo not compatabile, xp-90 is still very good--i have that : )

What do you think?!

If your going Intel P4s, and you are proficient at overclocking, get the 3.0 c 800fsb Northwoods instead. You can easily overclock them to 3.6; some even claim to get 4.0 ghz with the lucky ones, and since you mentioned oc'ing minimally this 3.0-->3.6 is just right for you. At the local Frys...

vcore 1.55 or 1.6?

Under full loads, the vcore always undervolts some. Check to see what the vcore is on idle.

How many burns on a DVD burner?

I never thought about DVD burners giving out before. Scary thought is: would the data you burn before it dies get corrupted because the burner is about fail?

Weird oc problem

I dont even think running 8 hours is even enough. I had overclocked my chip a few more fsb then usual and had it running for 13 hours and it shut down on me. Until your system runs past the 24 hour mark, you can't label it as 100% stable; but I think this 24 hour Prime95 test only applies to...

Something's not working

Sorry dude, but feces like this happens. Just remember to never buy generic PSU again or use the PSU that came with the case unless u recognize the brand. Stick with the name brands: antec, enermax, vantec, etc. I spent $125 on my Antec 550 true power because I dont ever want that to happen...

Thermal Paste on CPU Pins

I'm not really sure on how to remove all of the paste from under the pins, but I do know that you can safely use isopropyl alcohol to remove it--the more pure/stronger the isopropyl alcohol the better. Thermal paste is very conducive and would lead to faulty processor functioning/voltage if...

Question about Prescott and Northwood

Yeah, Northwoods do run better speed per speed with the Prescotts. My 3.0 c northwood overclocked to 3.8 c benchmarks a little higher than 4.0 prescott.

Yeah, going with the Prescott route you'd need water cooling for good overclocking results, while as Northwoods can overclock great with a good heatsink/fan on them.

Got my new 3.4C SL793 Malay

When I want to run another instance of Prime95 I just made a directory on the Desktop and just copied over the Prime95.exe file and run a shortcut from there.

zalman + p4c800e ?

Yeah, the Zalman 7000 is pretty good if you dont overclock if only mildly. Since you have the Asus p4c800, I think u can fit a thermalright xp-120 on that sucker--awesome low temps + great air overclocking.
