multiple windows xp users, multiple display settings?

i would like to set up 2 user accounts for WinXP, one for productivity (using dual LCD displays) and one for gaming (single monitor with 2x7900GT in SLI). i cannot get windows to allow me to have customized resolution / SLI settings for each user, anyway around this? i tried "Display...

Multiple Windows XP on same computer - can't boot second XP

ok i tried the above and it didn't do anything. my windows will still hang and restart. i even uninstalled both Windows XP and tried to install XP on the IDE partition first (while loading the RAID drivers still), but after install WinXP still hangs and reboots - so a fresh install did nothing...

7900gt fan won't quiet down

yup. Riva tuner doesn't do anything for me. I read the instructions on how to turn down the fanspeed on another website - but it didn't do anything for me. Fan PWM stays at 100%. I definately think the BIOS screwed it up. Also, another weird thing that tells me it's not a software issue: in Riva...

my eVGA 7900GT-CO fan was initially throttled down upon entering Windows XP, UNTIL I flashed the latest BIOS 12.07 on it, which was found on the eVGA website. can anyone else confirm this? it seems like eVGA claims this new bios fixes certain things, but it definately broke my fan speed. now I...

EAX problem with SB Live 5.1

I have a set of Creative Inspire 5300 speakers on a SB Live 5.1 but for some reason I cannot get the center speaker to work correctly. I can use the Speaker program from Audio HQ and test to hear all the speakers (including the center speaker). But the problem is when I play EAX supporting games...

Olympus D-460 review?

I'm thinking of buying a sub $300 camera with decent picture quality, image capacity, and battery life. Is the Olympus D-460 any good? What other cameras are good for this price range?

Cable Modem Router

im pretty sure... or else why would it even work at ALL? it's only occasionally that i get disconnected... besides... supposedly, the default settings should make it work, which i loaded a couple times... and still gives me that problem

What router would you recommend buying? I just bought the Netgear RT311, for some reason I get constantly disconnected from HTTP... I don't think there's a pattern but occasionally, my HTTP will not work... it cannot resolve the DNS, but when i remove the router and use just a direct connection...

RT311 problems

I get occasional disconnections from HTTP... I can still use ICQ or AIM... but my browser doesn't work... pinging addresses also do not work... but it comes and goes... ne suggestions?

Windows 2000 to Windows 98 networking

I have a system on w2k pro and one of win98 (first release) and I have both sharing folders across a lan... both are on the same workgroup and can see eachother on networking neighborhood... one problem: windows 2000 comp can log into windows 98 comp perfectly fine and use all resources... but...

can't format 40gig HD

I have the Maxtor 40Gig 5400RPM EIDE hard drive and when i tried to format it thru Windows 2000 Pro, it says the size is too big... i really want all 40 gigs on 1 partition, is that possible?
