For gaming, upgrade GPU or CPU?

thanks for the quick replies guys!! I guess i'll get the e8400 since it's on sale for $190 canadian.... whereas the 8600 is still $350 lol... plus i can just clock the 8400 anyway.... I played CoH a lot too... Argle, just curious.. with the change from dual to quad, the FPS increase wasn't...

E2160 on P35-DS3L Overclock not holding

hd4800's AND AA??!!

wierd... my 2900XT was the same in terms of putting AA on or not... x2 and x4 made no FPS difference for almost all my games, but x8 definately showed a big FPS drop going to get a 4850 soon for $130 canadian!! can't wait!

is the 9800gx2 SLI?

the 9800gx2 is not SLI, it is multi GPU, there is a difference between SLI and multi GPU... but yeah i'm not sure about core usaage

for 1680*1050 9600gt in sli or 8800gt in sli ?

frankly, SLI to me isn't that great... yes it DOES improve performance, but it really doesn't do that much... If you're going to SLI, you might as well spend the extra cash getting one expensive single Video card... like the 3870X2 or 9800X2 since they're almost like sli in a sort because...

2160 or 2140 are your best bets. If you're gonna game and burn DVDs, you don't need a quad for the time being. Although, if you're gonna use PS2 emulator, get a quad or the e8400.

yeah... i'm totally with you man... winter's already beginning to leave me >.< i could get idle temps at 20-25 C with my e2160 3.0 ghz and Pentium D 3.2 @ 3.8 ghz

Speedfan vs Bios temps

Hey Guys, can anyone tell me which is more accurate? Speedfan or Bios? Because my Bios say that my Tcase idles 35-37 C Speedfan says Tcase idles 29 C. with Tjunction1 29 and Tjunction2 being 27. Yeah, these are low temps because it's winter time here in Toronto still and i leave my...

OKAYYY... someone please help me! I bought the Thermaltake WingRS 101... It only came with 3 standoffs, so i used other standoffs from my last computer.... after building the comp the PCI cards don't fit because the standoffs raised the MOBO too high... i went to the store and asked them...
