Okay, how the F***k did you find that!!? I've been pricewatching & googling & searching here & HTPCforums for hours to find that or a decent alternate. Is there something I'm missing?
BTW, they're a little steep on the shipping $16.68. But beggars can't be choosers, better than spending 2...
Digging around for an inexpensive HTPC case, which have gotten hard to find, I ran across this one http://www.atxcases.com/Cases/gothdesktop.htm#
Seems not bad for the price, front panel's a dead ringer for the unavailable Compucase 7106, but the interior appears different.
Has anyone had...
It was late, I was tired. I was a f****ng idiot.
I needed to make a floppy boot disk for my wife's ancient laptop.
My floppy drive went wacko, and I reached into my open case and pulled the power plug on it.
Then I attempted to reinsert it.
Power went down. I guess something grounded...
Theses cases seem perfect for a cheap new Sempron machine for my folks. Can anybody offer an opinion on whether I should get one with a PSU or scavenge the one from their little old Dell celeron 400? I'm not sure how to determine even what the watts is on it from the sticker.
It pays to watch the prices in the flyers. They normally vary considerably for any particular tool. I picked up one of the 12" calipers for $20 last year. I think they screwed up, the CSR was flustered, but they honored it. I was tempted to push my luck and order 6!
I think HF uses some...
Thanks Larry.
It seems that dell was no longer supporting this model on their site as far as I could tell. I knew the bios could be an issue as I'd dealt with that on a p133 system. The WD software was what came with the new drive! I had liked using Maxblast in the past so I downloaded the...
I was trying to do a minor upgrade on my folks Dell L400s p400 system by adding a WD800BJ drive and then running w2ksp3 in off a bootable all-in-one cd for a dual boot setup. I recall doing this years ago on my p120 succesfully. I put the drive as slave on the cd drive's cable. The FAT32...
I'm running BTV perfectly on a p3 800 with PVR250 encoder card. Some folks have used even slower machines!
I never drop frames like I did with the AIW7500, ocasionally playback will freeze momentarily if some app gets greedy for cpu. Wouldn't happen if this was a dedicated HTPC.
This software...
The Dell deal sure is better for me being in NJ!
Total Price tax & shipping: $179.96
Even with BB being 15 min away in a 3% tax zone, it would be $26 more.
I've been using these for about 4 years, I have a rs4 and an rs60. One transmitter hooked up the tv and one to the pc.
The quality is pretty good, but don't expect wired studio monitors. I can walk outside our brick apartment house and take out the garbage without losing signal, but going up to...

Why in the world do they describe it as an mp3 player on the compgeeks site, when it can't play generic mp3s?
"This portable Lyra player lets you download and play MP3 and Real Audio G2 files"
These don't remember where you stopped, which sucks for an mp3 disk. What's the point of having many hours of music on disk if it ALWAYS starts at the begining? Never mind audiobooks. Recommend a pass, at any price.
