How are you connecting to the internet, Cable/DSL?
Are you behind a firewall/Which Firewall are you using?
Do you have a router/wireless router?

If this truly is an AGP video card, you may need to update or reinstall the GART driver for the AGP bus on the motherboard.
Most times poor performance after an upgrade or reinstallation is caused by that.
Let us know if that helps.

You asked for it, you got it...
What does the dd in Vdd mean?

That might make it clear as mud though...
It does sound like a power supply issue though.
Good luck.

The usual culprit with AGP video cards and poor performance after a fresh install/major reinstall is the GART driver for the AGP bus on the motherboard.
I would look into that first.

There is a possibility of getting the data off of it using disk utilities, by doing a hardware swap on the control board or by dealing with a professional data recovery company.
Using an enclosure is an option also I guess...
Those are about the options I can see.
Good luck.

Did you somehow enable Suspend To Ram (STR) ?
This causes the LED on my power switch to flash.
I haven't used it in a while because I had a different issue that made me not use it.
I don't recall but I think if you hold your power button in for about 4 seconds it might turn on. (If it...
I have seen some of the newer video cards with the large surface mounted caps that have been knocked loose.
I am not saying this is the case here, but my concern is that they are generally near a corner of the card, where a person would be likely to place their fingers during install or...
PVT43AND and PVT43ANDF7 differ in the final pack in and box configuration. Contact XFX for information about what the final pack in is.
By "pack in" I mean what is included in the box. I believe the new rectangular box version of this card has 1 DVI - VGA adaptor only.
I purchased my XFX...
One thing I saw that caused this error was trying to use a device driver made for a different version of an operating system.
Don't know if this is your issue though.

I had the very same problem.
For me, it was a sort of convoluted solution of removing the screensavers from the directory they get installed into.
That solved it. Desk.cpl didn't give me errors.
Gentle
P.S. Which screensaver was it?
Most of the 6600GT's don't have any form of ram cooling.
I think if you were to use an infrared thermometer to test the temperature of the GDDR3 ram, you would probably find it doesn't get as hot as other ram does.
Gentle
I think it is important to ask if this is a "new" install on any of your hardware?
For instance...
Is this a new install on your graphics card? Meaning... Did you just upgrade from another card?
Gentle
Just curious, but why did you install an operating system on it first and then put it in your notebook?
Can you merely format the hard drive and then boot to the install CD for the installation?

Getting a 256 meg card in a 6200 or 6600 series won't make much difference...
Mainly because the memory may be 256bit (I know the 6600GT has 256bit memory, not certain with the 6200 and 6600 though and they don't offer a 6600GT with 256 meg of ram anyway...), but regardless, the memory...
