yeah, they were fine. Actually, it was a bum board. It died about after 12 hours of use. I RMA'd it, and ended up buying a FIC AD11.

I Need Some MAJOR Help!!!

I just built a new system, the specs of which are located thru the link below, but basically I have a Iwill KA266 with 2x128MB Crucial PC2100 RAM and a maxtor HD. I physically put the system together (I think I did everything right), botted, and the system posted and everything seemed well...

BTW, I'm not running Raid or anything, have my HD set up as master IDE 0, my zip slave, and the DVD as the secondary master on IDE 1.

Dream Mobo, Proc, Case & RAM < $600?

This is what I got: Lian-Li PC-12 case - $169 (directron) KA266 MB - $147 (newegg) PC2100 RAM - $60 (crucial) 1.2 ghz AMD 266fsb cpu - $249 (tcwo) Ok, so it totals $625, but it should be kick ass (i'm building it this weekend). I also bought another stick of 128 for a total of 256 at $120.

where in the world did you see that? The KA266 is presently being shipped as 1.3, but the KK is still, and will be for a while, version 1.2. If you did infact see that the KK is verison 1.3, then it was a misprint. And as far as faulty KK 1.2's, there is probably only about 500, as it was...

regarding the "1.03" that it says at newegg, that is the 1.3. Besides hearing from people who have bought it from there, there also never has been a 1.03, just 1.1,1.2,1.3,...

FIC's new KT266 pic

you are thinking of the asus a7m266, which supports DDR and SDR RAM modules. That board is based on the AMD 760 chipset.

I pretty sure that technology is a ways away, sometime in '02 I've read. I don't think you'll be able to use the standard 1.44 floppys that are currently out.

yeah, kingofcomputers, they are the same. There are two types of floppys, ones that work, and ones that don't (unless you have a scsi?!?!). Bottom line though, if the performance of your floppy drive means that much to you, then you probably can get away with using a p133 or something of that...

I cannot believe the amount of post this thread has attracted!!! It's a friggin floppy drive. They all perform about the same, and they all range in prices from 10-25 dollars. I bought a black Sony Floppy for $25 and couldn't tell the difference between this one or any other one I've ever used.

Crucial selling 128 meg DDR 2100 for $60, HOT DANG!

Mine was supposed to be here, but with the storm we got here in MA, UPS has put a hold on all shipments (actually, it came yesterday.....but I wasn't here! DOH!). Also, more RAM from 256 to 512 doesn't really increase "speed" performance per se, so I think I would say the 256 of PC2100.
