I joined Anandtech almost 25 years ago, and found it a fantastic resource for tech stuff over the years.
I didn't have a need to build a PC for a number of years, but I'm looking to build one now.
I am a little disappointed in the lack of some content. I went to look for Best Video Cards for...
I used to peruse Anandtech forums years ago for all the latest information. Haven't been back in years, but it looks like this is still the place to go for information.
I built my father a Core 2 duo system years ago that was running XP. It finally died.
I've not kept up with any of the...
Well, not wrong speed per se.
Just thought I'd purchased the ddr2-800 and was confused why my BIOS was showing the slower RAM. Lol.
Just wanted to make sure as I don't overclock I'm not going to miss anything speed-wise.
Just put this system together. Gigabyte P35-DSR3 Mobo, with Intel E8400 3.0 Gigahertz chip.
By accident, bought 4 gigs of DDR2-667 RAM instead of DDR2-800 RAM.
I know the DDR-667 is running at a 1:1 ratio with the clock speed on the mobo, but is it worth getting DDR2 800?
I won't...
Now with pics!
First pic shows the two bumps on the shelf. The first one to the left doesn't interfere because it's to the side of the shelf. The second one does interfere cause it's in the middle.

This pic shows the second bump...
Exactly. And it can't press down on it. It's .8mm thick steal that's been deliberately formed to stick up.
Have to mash it down or cut it out, I guess.
Not sure how to post a pic.
But in that link you sent, the top picture....you can see the "bump" from the side angle. If you find the PSU opening, at the bottom of that hole, you can see the "shelf" that runs back for several inches. On top of that shelf looks like a small piece of wire or...
The power supply has a fan on one side, so I'm facing that down, wouldn't make any sense to have the fan blowing against the lid of the case. With that side of the PSU facing down, there aren't any other ways to put the PSU into the case.
Basically, the PSU rests on a small shelf that's...
Just got my new components.
Had purchased a Thermaltake Swing VB6000BNS Mid Tower Case and I bought a Corsair HX Series CMPSU-520HX 520W Power supply to go in the case.
The power supply doesn't fit. There's a small steel shelf in the case that the power supply is resting on. There's a...
