hmm, by playable do you mean lower FPS? I normally play games in windowed mode, besides the windowed mode penalty would it be playable if desktop is 1920x1200 while windowed game is less res?

Are you sure GTX 260 doesnt do 1920x1200? That is the card I have and I'm also looking for a 24" http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_gtx_260_us.html Max Digital Resolution: 2560x1600

Does PC cooling lower overall room temperature?

This is probably obvious.. but just need a confirmation. If my goal was to just have my office cooler, would extra cooling components help? I don't overclock or anything I'm guessing that heatsinks/fans just move more heat away from components but dont lessen the overall heat of my office...

Cold boot ok; warm boot locks up

I have Win XP SP3 and I can cold boot into windows fine, but if I have to restart for whatever reason (I want to, hardware install, windows update) the loading screen of windows freezes and the computer reboots. Sometimes it will do this 4 times in a row before getting back into windows...

How to find a good monitor pairing?

Finally got around to doing this, looks like I need a 22.6 inch widescreen in 1920x1200 to be a perfect match with my 20" 1600x1200, but all the 22" or 23" monitors I've found are 16:9 did you have a 23" 1920x1200 in mind, I could not find one on newegg/dell

Multitasking and video cards

Does your video card have anything to do with performance in multitasking? I'm a developer and run various IDEs but also play games on my box too (TF2/WoW mostly which I run in windowed mode so I can keep an eye on other monitors) Just wondering if there's anything to do with 3d rendering...
